I haven’t had the time to update my blog with my travel adventures for some time now. As my (Chinese) New Year’s resolution, I will try to blog more often this year. So to be able to catch up on my travel posts, I have compiled and summarized my trips from last year. This is the first part where I will share the places around the Philippines that I have been to last 2010. 🙂

So January 2011 is about to end, but this is just my first post for the year. Apologies for the lack of updates. It has just been a very busy and hectic December 2010 for me, with the heavy bulk of work and all the holiday celebrations here and there. So speaking of holidays, the office of the President has released a full list of regular and special holidays for 2011 as declared by Malacanang through Proclamation 84. So as early as now, we can now plan our trips and schedule them during the nearest holidays. 🙂

So here’s the second part of my Batangas post. Here a few other towns in Batangas that I have been to that I can recommend for others to check-out too. 🙂

Balete, Batangas

Marian Orchard

Balete is just 20 minutes away from Lipa City proper.  So, one holy week (around 10 years ago), we discovered this new place where we can do our Stations of the Cross.  This heavenly place is called the Marian Orchard. It is a peaceful and serene place where you can do some praying and meditation.  It features life-sized sculptures depicting the scenes of the Stations of the Cross. There are also shrines of different saints, a grotto, and a rosary garden. It also has a chapel and the shrine of the Risen Christ. It also has several gardens with fountains so it is really quite relaxing when you roam around the place. The first time I was here, I can really feel God’s presence. I can recommend this place as a good hide-away place when you want some peace and some personal time to pray and just feel God. 🙂
